Extremely helpful video, thank you. I got this to measure the draw on my 5500 watt generator as I add load so as not to overload, however I learned from your video if I clamp the cable from generator to interlock switch it wont work because the hot and neutral are both in that cable and they will cancel out each other. Do you know a method for checking load as it is added?

Hi, so I got this exact meter off Amazon because it was on sale to check my circuit breakers and outlet sockets.. I was just wondering if I got the right tool for what I need it for, basic stuff for around the house and auto and is it ok for starting an electronic hobby 🤔. . Anyways my dilemma is that I have a short on one side of my house upstairs bathroom, and hall plug and downstairs plug that has a clock radio and outside patio lights are not working and we also have an outlet that has covers and are rarely used . We have one gfci that I checked pressing on it and also checked my circuit breakers and do3snt seem to have tripped. I wiggled th3 fuses and even replaced a double pull and 2 single pulls thinking it would have fixed the problem but still no power. I checked the outlet upstairs it seemed fine, stuck my multimetwr probes in socket and it read 0.450 turned ut to the first dial where it said v~ . And I also checked the breakers downstairs and it seemed fine .. what haven't I tried?

can you check your inrush amps on an HVAC unit with this multimeter?

Thank you. My question was if I could check DC milli amps with this to check my car battery for parasitic draw. (Wired in series not clamp. Astro tech didn't know as per phone conversation, internet says otherwise ..so. You actually sound educated so I guess I need a new meter. If I Can use this to check dc milliamps can someone please let me know
