I got a feeling you got alot of volunteer buckwheat. I know Jeff stresses not letting it seed out

I've never planted & sprayed in the same day but I have worn shorts. 😂
Usually if my spray gets an hour or so in the heat before it rains it still works.

Maybe mow the buckwheat when it's about 8 inches tall, taller than the brassica, and try to knock it back

LOL Kaylee and the pup watching it rain. Hopefully the Glysofate had time. I think it will be fine 👍. Trial and error.

Did you broadcast the buckwheat seed on the surface?? Or did you till before buckwheat. If broadcast on the surface did you spray glyphosate right after planting??

I got my corn and soy in about 4 weeks late due to rain. The turkey and deer completely ate off one small half acre plot. Last week I seeded my barassica, turnips and radishes. Had to overseed that corn plot to have something grow in it. I did till and have a sea of lovely green coming in so far. Hope that plot comes in with barassica for you.

I think you’ll be ok with that little bit of buckwheat reseeding. Deer still love it. I tried the sturgis method and was more disappointed by the inability of the brassica to grow up through the crimped buckwheat. Maybe I planted the buckwheat to thick, maybe I didn’t get enough rain, I’m not sure, but the brassica was mostly held down by the buckwheat stalks

So the glyfosate won't hurt the seed?

Yeah, the "bean stalkers" have hit my green beans. I lost my Shepherd 2 years ago this month. He did an outstanding job at keeping those "bean stalkers" at bay. They eat the leaves and stems, but not the beans. So I still got 12 quarts of beans out of two 8'X8' raised beds. I'll take that! Last year I got only 2 gallon size freezer bags! And they "bean stalkers" hardly touched it. The tap turned on in July. Nice rains. Hopefully, August will be as good.
