So the $5k up front is awesome, but you forgot about the 4:1 Transfer case. Gears and big tires are awesome, but that’s only part of the equation. I like the way you’re thinking but for me it may be better to go straight for the Rubicon up front. 🤔

Buying the new design a year or two later should help you avoid the days of de-Bugging the mistakes out of the vehicle.

Wait two years. Buy a basic model. Spend $15, 000 at your local 4x4 shop to upgrade to Rubicon quality.

Save $30, 000. You're welcome.

No way would I leave off the Alpine speakers. Factory non-Alpine system just sounds so anemic. And I'm at the age where I don't want to spend a lot of time wiring up aftermarket stereo systems. I agree the Sport S is the way to go for aftermarket off roading upgrades down the line. I would keep the 4:10 gears and run 35's with a 2.5" lift. My Sport S build runs around $47k and change where the Rubicon for me is more like $54k.

I think that the most bang for your buck is the Rubicon, as you priced the Sport S with the Max Tow package and an equivalent Rubicon which would run about $5000 more. From past experience for a lift, lockers, high clearance fenders, Electronic sway bar disconnect, etc... You are looking at WAY MORE than $5000, you'd be more in the $7500 range and would have a "cobbled" together rig. If you want lockers and sway bar disconnect, high clearance fenders, get the Rubicon. Just my $.02.... Great presentation, I spent half the night last night "building" different versions!!!! Now all I have to do is sell my JKU!!!

Great presentation, as always. Well done. Can’t wait to test drive one!

I see where you are thinking you will be saving 5k, but your going to be adding 3k back in with after market parts. You will never get it back on resale or trade in value but you will with a Rubicon. Factory options hold way more value than after market options.

I'm driving down the road in my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk listening to this video in the car, and I am driving next to a new Gladiator which looks to be in a group of press Corps vehicles from Michigan how nuts is that

Nice build Rob.  Going with the max trailer package to get the wider differentials and the 44 in the front makes a lot of sense since you'd be ditching a bunch of the Rubicon stuff in the near future.  Hoping to get to drive a Gladiator in Moab or at least get a ride in one.  We're heading out from western Berks County PA for Moab this Friday evening with some stops along the way including the Broken Arrow trail in Sedona.  Safe Travels, God Bless and See you in Moab Brother!

I personally think the Rubicon stock with an added auto transmission will give you the best bang for the buck, particularly if you might trade it in in 3-4 years for the next new toy. At trade on, the Rubicon will bring far more than a sport s with a bunch of options

Nice build. I personally would go with the Rubicon because you don't have to regear for 37's. I have 37's on my '18 jlu Rubicon and it does just fine. If I can get what I'm asking for my '11 Raptor, I'll head to the dealer and order one up.

A year or so will see the deep discounts from FIAT on their Jeep Trucklite version. I think it's worth the wait. 62 grand for FiAT's Wrangler. does seem a bit silly.

Planning on getting the Rubicon version with alot of the options. I'm not planning on doing any builds afterwards, just a snorkel, winch and radio transceiver, I'll have enough for a good sized downpayment for mid 2020. All the options came out to 10k, so about 55k MRSP, you still have figure in taxes and the other feess... plus I wanna get a nice boar to tow behind it 😏🦀

Update: played around with other models, for my money's worth. Get the Rubicon, most bang for your buck. The time you get the options you want, its almost the same price as the Rubicon, which has some of those options as standard equipment... generally about 1k different in pr6when all said and done with the options you pick out.

Steel wheels are better for serious off-roading. Can straighten them out with hammer. Of course, I don't do ary serious off-roading. I like what you built. About the same way I'd want one.

Definitely an awesome vehicle, I agree better to build your own than to buy one all set up. I would build mine as well for some off road, more on road and a little adventure as needed!

Thanks for the video. You are saving $5K you say but doing the aftermarket lift kit, tires, rims, lockers, spray in bed liner etc... is going to cost you a lot more than $5K than you say you are saving. I would just get the Rubicon and be done. I want to add also doing the aftermarket lift and other options will void your warranty!

Will consider purchasing one when the diesel comes out, if it ever does.

I believe the Rubicon model for the Wrangler comes with a better transfer case than the Sport. I don’t know if that’s the same with the Gladiator. But it would be nice to have also.

The Rubicon looks good, the price way to much no midsize trucks should cost 60 some thousand it's better off to buy a HD truck for that price I would buy the sport s and build-one and u would save some money buy a lift kit and 35's and u r all set great video as always🤘🤘
