The Sahel is 'in a state of melt down' according to Defence analyst, Professor Michael Clarke. Russian backed autocracy is increasing across West Africa with former influences like France and the US being asked to leave.

While they are yet to be formally kicked out by the junta, the protests are making it clear that they are no longer welcome.

So how does Niger's coup impact the rest of the world?

The Uranium supplied to France to generate 80% of their electricity by Niger, a country, where only 20% have access to electricity - that is where 'International Law' should have been prosecuted.

Love the way these guys hide behind international law and such . The rules they all made up themselves and break them regularly .

If they matter to the rest of the world, why was the rest of the world comfortable leaving them in extreme poverty all of these years?

The Sahel isn't in a meltdown, but a revolution.

International law that benefits the west. How is it some of the richest countries in minerals are some of the poorest countries in the world?? Who’s benefiting from international law. I think the world has finally woken up and actually pays attention to geopolitical strategies and propaganda we are all fed daily.

A country's minerals and oil are a "common heritage"? What does that even mean? I do not want to believe he said that. Even in kindergarten they understand property rights. Thus guy is deluded. This is 2023

Imposing the Western form of democracy on Africa is nothing but neo-colonialism. Before Western colonialism, Africa had its own form of democracy. The African form of democracy was a CONSULTATIVE DEMOCRACY, not a ballot democracy. Instead of competition through the ballot, there was competition through values. Those with higher values naturally found themselves at the top echelons of leadership. Under Africa's consultative democracy, leadership was inclusive and shared, resources were fairly spread, and decisions were based on consultations with various cadres of society rather than a small clique of elites. The Consultative form of democracy is what fits Africa and should be developed and enhanced.
