Used to wear hypervenoms, magistas, then got into a Copa… converted me to leather boots.
The copas packed it in after 2 seasons. Tried almost every boot in the store. These and Copas are definitely the most comfortable boots I’ve worn.

Nike says its a sustainability switch, that's just a PR statement to lessen the blow of no more K-leather. The only reason is California is one of the biggest markets for football boots and K-leather boots are banned there, losing Nike millions (if not tens of millions) in football boot sales. They're a corporation, they make decisions to increase profit and it always comes to that. K-leather is actually sustainable as well, as Kangaroo's are considered pests and k-leather is merely a byproduct of population control. Don't believe the switch from a "sustainability" stand point, the Legend line suffers due to corporate greed

I miss the legend 4 elite. You got the lock down from the fly wire system and the softness of kangaroo leather plus the sick carbon fiber sole plate. Nike just doesn’t hit the same 😔

a massive reason why so many people buy k leather boots is exactly because of its ability to stretch!!!!

i think if u love CTR360 new tiempo would be a good substitute, but if you love leather, copa sense or I will stick on mizuno

One aspect of the leather (kangaroo or other) vs. synthetic debate that should be discussed more is the longevity. An acquaintance who played semi-pro said that he went through 2-3 pairs of synthetics a season, since they just aren't that durable compared to leather. I personally don't have enough experience to weigh in, but I think it's a fascinating topic that I wish was discussed more. Anyone have any experience?

I mean I don’t mind too much that they don’t have leather anymore but at least call them a different name or something that feels new and keep the tiempo as the classics leather super boot it once was

Leather vs Synthetic debate aside. I think these are objectively speaking a very good pair of boots. They look like an amalgamation of a Magista Opus 2v2 with a Phantom Venom and a Mercurial. As long as they fit me comfortably snug and have a great touch on the ball. Along with a decent responsive feel, then it’s all good from me. These aren’t a total must have, but I think I will pick up a pair further along. Mostly because the new Adidas X is right around the corner, and I am really interested in those.

Also are the Legend 10 takedowns gonna be synthetic as well? I would imagine them being so.

Just pulled the trigger on some Nike Tiempo Legend 9's. Had to ship to another state first since I live in California. The move from K leather is incredibly disappointing. I'm inching towards my mid 30's so this could be the last boots I purchase before I "retire". I still have some Copa's in the closet.

I’m more worried about the heel which looks like the one on the Legend 8 Elite which gave me a huge blister.

Whats the protection like? I always loved Tiempos because it felt almost like armour on my feet. Gives me confidence to go into those tough tackles because of the protection the k-leather affords in comparison to something like the gripknit phantom gx or mercs.

The only issue I really have with the loss of leather is the narrow size of the toe box, make the next version a little wider and they will be fine
