I have a shard of Kyanite as part of a geologic collection I ordered from Amazon. It has a striking blue color but it's predominantly embeded in a brown rock.

Willis mountain here in VA is being mined flat for it's kyanite. Evidently you can make high temperature ceramics with kyanite, sad.

Cool... A friend of mine gave me a big sack of the blue stuff... Some of it is pretty good quality. I've got some other specimens that are an apple green. I've been told the green stuff isn't nearly as common.

I do not know how many of my videos you watch but in several of my videos I am wearing a necklace I made with a kyanite wire wrap. So to make a long story short I found this at the hog farm and they told me their lost and found was closed down so I kept it and have worn it in many videos and it is the blue type you showed
