I live in Murfreesboro (the city where MTSU is) and I remember every kid at school watching the game under our desks and eventually the teacher just gave up and put the game on the projector

My math teacher graduated from Michigan State, so his reaction to the loss will live on as it’ll remain unforgettable. The game took place during his class, which I watched it with him during class. On the projector, he showed the game, and I correctly predicted the result, suggesting Middle Tennessee would defeat the Spartans.

I remember exactly where I was during this game. I was playing pick up ball at the YMCA when a kid ran over yelling how Michigan state was about to get upset. All 10 of us stopped playing and piled around this kids IPhone to watch one of the greatest upsets in march madness history

I remember when I was out with friends when this game happened and was so stunned by it. This was as unexpected as the Richmond and Norfolk State upsets. This game actually flowed a lot like the Richmond one where Middle Tennessee controlled the game and had the lead the whole time on top of a double digit lead as well.

I was going to Smyrna High in Smyrna about 20-25 minutes down the road from MTSU. i remember we were watching the game during dismissal and whatnot and I was in the bandroom with a couple of my buddies watching the game on our Assistant Band Director's laptop. Every second when MT was in the lead, we could feel that something big was on it's way. When that clock reached Zeroes and the score being 90-81, we were actually celebrating over a sport that most of us in that room didn't care for, but because it was a local team with a name we all knew.

The PA came on and they announced "Students and faculty, if you're still in the building, your MTSU Blue Raiders basketball just beat the number 2 team in the country. Go Blue Raiders!" One of the guys who was watching the game with us was like "man it's sick that MTSU won but they busted my bracket!"

Michigan State fan here. Middle Tennessee was more aggressive than us from start to finish and made better plays. But in the 2nd half there were a bunch of bad calls against us and that was ridiculous.
