REVISED HQ STEREO
Dave Loggins is widely remembered for his 1974 composition "Please Come to Boston", but his 1973 ballad "Pieces of April" became a huge (yet underrated) hit song for Three Dog Night in 1973.The vocal is by Chuck Negron. A wonderfully written ballad!

Roger was my best friend. I was with him at the car accident when his girl died in his arms. Sad to say he never got over her. He passed recently and now is with his sole mate. I love you guys and will see you again when my time comes. RIP my friends.

A favorite song sung by Chuck Negron. My husband's birthday is in April and my birthday is in May. My husband passed away a year ago, I miss him terribly. This song gives me comfort thinking of our loving memories.

It makes me weep for a lost time. We had the best music and the best times.

70 yrs old now. Memory tends to fade somewhat. Was an Airman first class in the security police in Tachikawa Japan. One of the best nights of my life in Dec. 1973. Several of us took the train from Tachi to Tokyo for a 3dognight concert. first time on the rails for me. I had already missed out on a Deep Purple concert. The concert was magical. Young Japanese girls (probably middle school age) yelling Chuckie!, Chuckie!, Chuckie!. as i waited for Joy to the World to be played. When they played Pieces of April it instantly became my favorite song. I do remember them saying it was the first time playing that song live. Memories are a wonderful thing. God Bless.

A vastly underrated song. So emotional and emotive. Barely makes me cry every time I hear it and I’ve been hearing it since the album came out. Lovely- just lovely….🥹

One of my top 3 songs ! I play this every morning in May for the last 50 years. Where has the time gone? The memories along the way I cherish. When I first heard this song I said that if I ever had a daughter I would name her April. I did but our relationship is strained and we don’t even communicate but I have no regrets of naming her after this song.

I love this song. It makes me cry like a baby every time I hear it. From 1974 to 1981 I owned and managed a night club in western N.Y. This is one of the songs my girl and I danced to in the club. One evening in 1980 she was on her way to the club to be with me and crashed the car. A girl came in the club and said there was a car crash down the road. A friend and his girl drove me to were the crash took place. She died in my arms. Thank you for this song it will always be our song.

" I wrote it at a very special time of my life. Special, because I met the "love of my life" and had recently lost her. By chance, we were together for three consecutive Aprils and then she left me for good. Today, I don't know where she is or how her life turned out. May is symbolic of the present, April was, and still remains a sweet yesterday. I have never really gotten over "April" and the "pieces" still remain. Those sweet Aprils... It's my favorite song, too."
- Dave Loggins (composer)

We were married in April. Throughout our 46 years, we try to keep “pieces of April”. In other words, remember what made us fall in love in the first place. Great song!

When I was 15 in April 1974 I listened to this track every morning before school; hated school. However there was this one girl named Patty Spencer I would see on the walk. Still makes this song special.
