I got a similar impression - the notes don't seem to be blended well and on my skin are in constant competition with each other. While wearing it I get a wiff of something pleasant (leathery flowers) one moment and then get kicked by sharp awfulness (smoky fruit and tanines) a moment later. And this keeps happening for several hours, the scent doesn't settle or develop, I just keep smelling random parts of it until it finally fades.

I appreciate your honest opinion, and It's interesting how feelings change from nose to nose.
To me Russian Tea is a light, relaxing tea, with a touch of mint/chlorophyll, and maybe fresh tobacco.
In the opening I detect something stronger, slightly leathery, but I'm not sure.
It lasts long enough on me, I like it, but I prefer stronger fragrances.

I like this stuff. Scandalous about the bottle sizes

I am just wearing Russian Tea today, so I searched YouTube and found your review. Of course, I get the mint immediately, but it was very smoky during the first two hours. My skin seems to preserve the mint in combination with the darker tea and you know my feelings about mint in general ☺️. And this contrast between light and dark is what I really enjoy... However, nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed your review and I can see why you don’t particularly like it.

Great review! Indeed, the dissonance in there is like that of the music chords: creates some tension, some intrigue; the opposite of a round, cozy scent

I didn't pick up on the mint, will try to next time, but your spot on.
Yup, nice fruit, which I noticed more when I sprayed it on others, then the very slight floral,
and into this black tea, almost, heck, just like the tea leaves that have settled at the bottom
kettle that most of all the liquid has been poured out. Black tea leaves.
Now I like tea scents. When L'Artisan was having a sale, I was going to buy Tea for Two,
but it was the first one sold out.
I got my Russian Tea from Twisted Lily for only $60.
It was the bottle change over, plus I think TL was needing to raise money,
and reduce older inventory.
Oh, my bottle remains unopened .
That third stage . Bitter, yup. You nailed it.

Totally agree with your opinion on the price point for ml. Would love to get a bottle of Monte Cristo but the price prevents me from moving forward.

Didn’t like this one. Tried this, Hemingway & Tango & passed them all on. Tango was ok but not bottle worthy, not because of price but I thought it was a little meh

Romanza put me off so much that I never felt like trying more from this house. Loved this review though.

To me Top: smell honey honey and honey.
Drydown: smoke and musk that's it.
