The musician Dan Fogelberg is not dead. When his death was announced he was in Europe with his wife of 10 years. The man continues to live in Colorado, where he never left. The woman Jean Mayer Dailey never knew the musician. No one knows who she was with. The musician Dan Fogelberg suffered a stroke in 2001 and he retired from the music industry. Most details of his life aren't even true since the man led a very private life. His parents weren't musicians. They were European immigrants, who never learned English. "Leader of the Band" is a metaphor for the patriarch since Fogelberg is absolutely brilliant . . . Nothing in this video is true about the musician Dan Fogelberg. Joe Walsh did not produce Souvenirs. The musician has only been married twice and still lives with his second wife. He did not have prostate cancer. This video needs to go away. There is nothing real except the man's name.

He needs to be inducted into the music hall of fame. Seriously forgotten about for too long. He was one of a kind.

"Longer" was my wedding song. I walked down the aisle to that beautiful song 40 years ago.

My college sweetheart introduced me to Dan Fogelberg years ago. I became an instant fan. She is gone now. Every time I hear a Fogelberg song, takes me back, and I think of her.

Dan could sing songs that touched our hearts and soul, especially as a college kids in the 70s, his collaboration with Tim Weisberg was incredibly touching music. He will be missed.

How sad to lose one of the greatest singers and songwriters of all time!
He was so handsome and his voice was angelic.
I’m sure he’s busy in Heaven, entertaining all in his heavenly home.

Dan had the voice of an angel.
Longer is probably my favorite big hit ballad of all time. I was 10 when it was a big radio hit and it just reminds me of the security and warmth of childhood.
I was listening to this exquisite song, falling asleep and gazing at my lava lamp while the snow fell outside.

It still endures and just sounds like home to me.

I actually met him once! His Dad, Peter, I think, was My Mom's Band director in Peoria's Woodruff high school. Gone way to soon! ... Died at 56 yrs old ...Prostate cancer. "Longer than" is so Full of memories in Peoria, IL. He is dedicated several places in Peoria. 1 Street is named after him by Glen Oak Park. I saw him in concert in 1990 at the Glen Oak Pavilion. He won an award that evening! He is honored several places here in Peoria. "Leader of the Band" & " Longer" were great hits for him.

Knowing that his dad was the leader of the band he was singing about in "Leader of the Band" makes it all makes sense.

RIP...
