I just bought this one and I have to agree the is blade crappy. But fortunately I didn't want it for the blade I bought it for the pummel and the handle to combine it with my Darth Vader light saber and my wife's Luke saber. So yeah not great as a Dark Saber but perfect to combine with other sabers.

Actually they’re both accurate the old dark saber toy is based on the rebels and clone wars dark saber where as the new one is based specifically on the one in the mandalorian and the book of boba fett

I definitely like the first one better. It is a little louder, but I feel like the light saber forge one is almost too quiet! 😂 Did you know about the force lightning feature with the old dark saber?

The sound effects are pretty rad.
Bummer it's a bit of a pain to put back together but it looks really cool.
It's weird the whole thing doesn't glow but the parts that do are pretty.
Interesting that the hilts are so different.
Sorry it didn't end up being as rad as you hoped.
