God Gives A Second Chance

Today's chapter is Jonah 3.

If God could take ONE MAN, who didn’t have much faith, and didn’t have much love, and then use him to cause repentance across an entire city... HOW MUCH MORE could God use us today if we go out in great love and great faith, and preach the simple Gospel to those around us!!

Going into work right now, praying that God would rid me of everything that is keeping me from winning souls for Jesus Christ! Lord, save souls today! Maranatha!!!

It was encouraging to read how the Word went forth and reached the king who then issues a proclamation for everyone to repent! When someone genuinely repents, they immediately want to spread the word of repentance so that others may personally know Gods mercy as well!

How awesome is the book of Jonah! First God uses Jonahs disobedience to save the mariners. And then when he listens and does what God tells him, a whole city gets saved! Just image what could happen if we all do as God commands us! Praying for me to be obedient to God always and spreading his good word.

I am overwhelmed by how gracious and merciful our God is. He offers a second chance and will turn away his wrath for anyone who turns from their evil way in obedience to Him.

I have seen first hand the second chances god gives to us. Without his love and grace myself and MANY others I have known in my life would not be walking with him right now.

Reading over this chapter with my focus on how God desires to save over judgement has me very encouraged. Repentance from sin in two forms- from a prophet and from pagans. God desires obedience and not sacrifice.
The Ninevites were so quick to believe God and turn toward him instead of their sin. And here I am- sometimes too embarrassed and too frustrated to turn to God in my sin and pray for his mercy. But the Ninevites had the right answer- even when they knew nothing of the true and living God and were told they would soon face judgement, they appealed to his mercy.

Wow, this whole book is about how good God is to offer salvation! The sailors didn’t deserve it, the Ninevites didn’t deserve it, even Jonah didn’t deserve it! And I know I certainly didn’t deserve it, but praise God he was good enough to allow me to repent! Our God loves to save, and we should ask him to do just that!

If at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom, that I will pluck up and break down and destroy it, and if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I intended to do to it.

Reading this chapter knowing that Jonah was giving the second chance and the Nivenites turn from the evil ways and repent. Thank you God for giving us all the second chance to turn to you.. I’m so thankful that I got the chance to repent and turn my life over to you God. You have been so patient with me in my life. Know it is my turn to share the Gospel to all! Time for a revival in our nation. If we repent God will relent us from our judgment.. God keeps his promises ❤️🙌🏼
