In this video I'll go over an example why you can't always trust the diagnosis from your local mechanic shop. Some on purpose some due to lack of knowledge will replace things that don't need to be replaced and as a result cost you unnecessary expense's. That's where the value of a second opinion comes in.

Good video. I've been running a small shop in Denver metro area doing the same thing - for 21 years now - fixing cars right without misdiagnosing or charging the customer for unneeded repair. All my business has been word of mouth, never once had to advertise and have had a steady flow of work. I have customers who I first met as children through their parents who were my customers, that have now grown and have their own children. Thanks for showing people that there are still mechanics out their with integrity.

Great video and would love to see more videos on the orchard and other renovations. In defense of the local mechanic, however, you admit that the clutch is not readily available as a standalone part. So if the mechanic only has the option to replace the entire assembly, that’s what s/he will quote. I doubt the mechanic or dealership is even allowed to shop for parts from unknown suppliers on eBay given they are running a business and are expected to warranty or stand behind their work.
