This guy is in a way keeping Jay alive! You can't replace the original, but you can pay tribute to him! Much like the Elvis tribute artists! We loved these great voices, and it is a good thing to enjoy these tribute artists honoring these wonderful songs. Have say he does a great job!

I find it pretty impressive how the current "Jay" started off as simply a fan who sang J&A songs for many years and one day became "one of them" as it were. That's every fan's dream if you ask me!

A PRETTY GOOD EFFORT SINGING THAT NUMBER. THERE IS ONLY ONE JAY(DAVID BLATT).HE OWNS THAT SONG. NOBODY CAN SING CARA MIA LIKE JAY BLACK.(DAVID). THE BREATH CONTROL-PITCH CONTROL AND PHRASING IS IN ANOTHER WORLD. WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED TO SEE JAY AND THE AMERICANS. A WONDERFUL GROUP. MAY YOU R.I.P.JAY(DAVID). YOU WERE THE BEST.

I know the history behind Jay Black having to leave Jay And The Americans but to me he is the voice of this group even though his replacement sings it very well, it is always going to be Jay Black who I want to see and hear. I am glad that the rest of the original group bought the rights to the songs and name, Jay And The Americans.

Can't have Jay and the Americans without Jay Black. This is just a tribute band.

He sings and sounds like Jay Black but his voice is all his and does fantastic with it. Saw these guys live at Sterns Square in Springfield, MA on a Thursday night Bike Night 2002.

Excuse me!! Anyone that thinks this even in the same universe of Jay Black needs to visit a couple of YouTube videos of Jay Black singing Cara Mia in his later years to be reminded of his talent. PBS Special of 13 years ago and another one (few years later) a PBS Special from 2011. You're welcome.

What a voice! Caught their performance at the Golden Nugget Casino in Vegas a while back. Really great.

People need to get real. Jay Black is one-of-a-kind, and one of the greatest of all time, but that time has passed for him. I watched a video from about a year ago, and -- with the greatest respect -- he simply cannot pull it off anymore. Anyone who says otherwise is not being honest or is, I suppose, hearing what he or she wants to hear. Two of these three formed the group with the late Jay Traynor and Kenny Vance Rosenberg in 1962 (Marty Sanders came in with Jay Black in 1963). Kenny, I believe, is not part of the group not because he thinks it's a "farce", but because he has had his own separate career for 40 years (and has been ill lately, although he is now doing some limited shows again). This Jay (Jay Reinecke) was an obsessive fan of Jay & the Americans most of his life and he earned this gig. Although not as good as Jay Black was in his prime, he does the legacy justice, in my opinion. Finally, we should all be grateful that these three recording "Americans" bought the rights to the group name from the bankruptcy trustee, because the other bidding party was a promoter who might have put together an entirely phony group.
