there was something special about hearing these great roots tunes by all the artists when they first came out and the oppressive times we were going through, if you were there you know what i mean ', it truly uplifted us and continues to for everyone in these crazy times nowadays

My first Wailing Souls record was "Stranded" album in early 1980's in the summer working as a teenager in Fresno Northern California, and from there I continued to buy more of them, always a big fan, today reggae has changed alot, I miss the old school reggae in Jamaica, but I k ow that in the United States, young non Jamaicans, have many reggae bands that play the old school reggae style, not that reggaton with Rapp, it's just not real soul, real grass roots reggae.

Absolute class. Only just discovered this, even though I have been listening to Greensleeves for 30-40 years.

There are so many really great reggae artists, singers and bands. So much so that it is really hard to classify them accordingly to different criteria. Just when you feel you can draw a list of the top 100 you find another track from a different artist or band to shatter your first list. The 1970's was probably a golden period for reggae followed by the 1980's. This track by the Wailing Souls certainly ranks as one of the greatest and it still belongs in my list. However, I do not feel confident about completing my top 100 yet. However, time may tell.
