It was 1998. I remember being in 4th grade and that school year we had a female transfer student from London in our class that can't speak tagalog. Her name was Katie and she's very pretty. Every guy had a crush on her including me. I always blush when I see her and get shy coz she's taller than me (and most guys). She inspired me to get good in speaking english and try hard to teach her english-tagalog translations in school. My older brother have this song on tape and when I first listen to this, I fell in love with it as every lyric of this song is exactly what I wanted to tell her back then. Though this song was already released a few years ago during that time. We became friends and have fun memories together. I was the one who taught her "ingat palagi". And my heart was flying way above the clouds whenever she told me "ingat palagi din" :) But sadly, she only studied in our school for several months, and after the Christmas holidays, we were just informed that she won't come back. Her whole family went back to London and she never got the chance to say goodbye to us. Mind you, there's no cellphones and internet in 1998. So as a "heartbroken kid" that time (lol), all I did was listen to this song every night in a small radio/cassette player beside my bed, reminisce, and try to heal the pain lol. 25 years later, whenever I hear this song, I always remember that memory. I've always wondered what happened to Katie. Her brown eyes, cute pointed nose, and her innocent smile, I can still somehow recall :)
