History is not bereft of great leaders who have inspired the imagination of communities and populations or triggered revolutions, but very few, if indeed any, have had the enduring and universal influence as that of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi – the Father of the Nation. Regarded by many as the greatest leader of the Indian independence movement, Gandhi's legacy and teachings continue to have a huge global influence even seven decades after his death. From Martin Luther King Jr to Nelson Mandela to Ho Chi Minh and even the Dalai Lama, nearly every great leader has sought to learn and borrow from a rare man who strived to live his life by the same principles he preached. In this special telecast we will analyse Mahatma Gandhi’s impact on the world.

Gandhi's teachings are universal coz of his search for truth n non violence and that is what keeps him relevant today.
Tolstoy was a tree and Gandhi was it's fruit.
Mandela learns from book 'War n peace' about a General that he was of the idea of reducing violence n spared life at war. N Mandela also mentions that there is no enemy and believes in taking all together. N keeps him relevant today.

Gandhi's idea of Sarvodaya ie not keeping anyone behind should be taken as idea ahead with nonviolence n trusteeship of wealth.
