For newer OpenFOAM version it's:

postProcess -func magU

and

postProcess -func sample

Hi Jozsef. After I finished the command 'blockMesh', I used paraFoam to check the mesh. But as I click the 'apply' in paraview, it just shut down immediately. The problem is FOAM FATAL IO ERROR: Cannot find patchField entry for outlet. Could you help me solve this trouble? Thank you!

Hello, József!
Thanks so much for your tutorials, I'm just starting to learn about OpenFOAM for my final project now. Went through all of your past videos with no problem, but now something isn't working. The command foamCalc and sample are not working, you have any ideia what could be the problem? I think there's something wrong cause I just have the folder "tutorials" on my OpenFOAM folder, there is nothing else.

Thanks a lot!

Thank you for these tutorials, they help a lot! I'm now using openfoam2206 and I can't find magU in 0 file folder, it starts to appear from 0.001 file folder, that really confused me, Did I miss any settings or something

First of all Thank you József for these wonderful tutorials.
Now, with the version 7 of openFOAM It is no longer specified on the guide all the possibilities for sampling (Uniform, face, midpoint, curve ...). I mean, I do not find longer this table, is it available somewere?

hello Dr. Nagy, your virtual student here. In my case, in Libre, all four columns are ending up in one column. I am having a data separation issue. OpenFoam10

Can you tell about discretization scheme which can capture the discontinuity instead of making more fine mesh? Regards

Hello Mr. József
Thank you for your tutorials; I am a beginner and these videos have helped a lot.
I had a question; when you make a change to a file, how do you save the data? Do you pick append or DOC- format or something else in Ubuntu?

OpenFOAM 6

In the system directory, i couldn't find sampleDict although i found a file called "sample" - i guess just the name alone changed by comparing contents of your video and my file.

When i followed the instructions in video, got an error message saying

foamCalc : command not found.

Tries various combinations foamCalc magU, foamCalc mag U, foamCalc mag(U) etc.. still doesn't work

Hello Sir,

I am new to OpenFoam. I need to set nonuniform velocity profile at inlet. like setfields for internal fields, is there any options in openFoam to set inlet velocity profile?

Nice video. I doing this tutorial on openFoam7. I have used rhoPimple solver to simulate. Now when I give command postProcess -func sample, it runs with warning : FOAM Warning :
From function static bool Foam::string&, Foam::dictionary&, Foam::HashSet<>&, const Foam::word&)
in file at line 278
Cannot find functionObject file sample
"
Also, it didn't create post process folder. How to correct this

Hello. Why sampling 10000 points in 100 and 1000 cases? That way you are making the sample tool interpolating to get the values. Isn't more realistic to use raw values?

foamCalc: command not found

It seems they have changed something here, I can see mag U in each saved time step
