About Riftbreaker:
You play the role of captain Ashley S. Nowak - you are the Riftbreaker, an elite scientist/commando inside a powerful Mecha-Suit. Enter a one-way portal to Galatea 37, a distant planet at the far reaches of the Milky Way Galaxy, with the purpose of building up a base that will allow travel back to Earth and further colonization. Ashley's Mecha-suit, which she calls "Mr. Riggs", can withstand the harshest environmental conditions and has a full range of equipment for base construction, resource extraction, gathering specimens and of course - combat. It is capable of traveling through rifts that connect space across vast distances.

BASE BUILDING
Your task is to construct a two-way rift back to Earth. It is a very complex invention and requires enormous amounts of energy. Simple solar collectors and a few tons of steel will not be enough. You will need to build up a complex chain of mines, refineries, powerplants and research facilities to complete this mission.

EXPLORATION
Galatea 37 is an unknown planet in the Sycorax belt of the Milky Way galaxy. Long distance surveys detected that it is inhabitable and perfect for colonization. The planet is full of rare minerals and substances that can be found in various locations around the globe. Varied biomes can surprise you with unknown fauna and flora as well as harsh weather conditions. Construct local outposts in resource-rich locations that will transport the required resources using rift technology.

DEFENSE
Your presence on this planet will not go unnoticed. As you build up your industry and disrupt the natural order, the world will start seeing you as a threat. Build up your defenses. Construct walls, barriers and defense towers as the attacks get stronger with every passing day. You will face thousands of hostile creatures trying to eliminate your presence.

HACK, SLASH, SHOOT
Mr. Riggs can be equipped with powerful weapons and abilities that will allow you to take on the largest of beasts. You will need to be ready to face lots of hostile alien creatures as you scout the planet.

GATHER SAMPLES AND STRANGE ARTIFACTS
Fallen beasts will drop valuable research specimens as well as rare resources. Use everything that you can gather to research and craft new technologies, buildings, weapons, and equipment. You can also scout the terrain using your sensors and dig for treasure buried underground.

RESEARCH
Use the samples that you've gathered to research new technologies that will help you build up your base, improve your defenses, develop new blueprints for your Mecha-suit or improve existing technologies.

CRAFT
Mr. Riggs is fully customizable and upgradeable. Use the blueprints that you've researched to craft new parts and weapons. Utilizing better materials for the crafting process results in developing gear with improved properties. Each crafted item has unique properties.

INTERACTIVE STREAMING
The Riftbreaker™ has built-in integration with the most popular streaming services out there. The stream's audience can actively participate in the game through multiple options, e.g. by voting to send waves of new enemies, spawn environmental disasters like a tornado or by donating resources.

THE SCHMETTERLING ENGINE
This game is built using the latest iteration of EXOR Studio's in-house developed Schmetterling 2.0 engine which was previously used to create X-Morph: Defense and Zombie Driver. We pride ourselves in delivering fluid gameplay and utilizing all of your hardware's capabilities - uncapped frame rate, support for widescreen monitors, customizable controls and more.

It looked like the big rock monsters were vulnerable to explosives, so artillery and rockets. Also, video game logic dictates that the hammer would work too. Can't wait until this becomes available, the previous game was pretty fun.

The bigger and bigger waves of enemies reminds me of the game They Are Billions.

This looks enjoyable, but more like an RTS game with more resources and a time limit. It reminds me more of Mindustry than Factorio in its gameplay. Still, I like Mindustry also, so I'll probably buy this when it comes out.

Even though you were defeated, thanks for a full gameplay video giving us a taste of what this game is all about. :)

Getting Supreme Commander vibes, seems like Commander Bombing works as a strategy, you killed most of those rock things with your own explosion.

Some tips dealing with the aliens:
- Always back step and slash. Don't rush into them, especially with the spitters. You can also use your dash ability to give some breathing room.

- Flanking is important when going up against ranged units. Their projectiles are easy to evade.

- Heavier units can be cheesed with melee, since their move sets are telegraphed.

Also, in the prologue mission, you can switch out the sword with a chargeable plasma cannon using Q. It may be slower than the minigun, and you'd have to lead it ahead, but it's a devastating weapon against small to medium aliens.

I think this game encourages building a variety of turrets with the way ammo runs out.

I've downloaded and played the prologue version. It looks really promising! If you want to delve into the tech tree, DO NOT follow the in game narrative. Just build your first carbon extra for wherever you wish. Do not build the carbon power plant. What will happen is the in game advisor will just keep telling you to destroy the nests to the W and NW. I was able to get to a level 4 base, liquids extractors and had the rocket turrets. There is no option to save that I know of, but this will allow you to play the map for quite some time. If you follow the in game narrative, you'll get to a point where your base will be completely swamped by enemies. I'm looking forward to the full release.

You need to deploy factorio levels of resource mining and towers.

From what I've seen rockets are the bestish way to deal with golems

@Katherine Afaik the armory refills your ammo & usable items but you're constantly extremly low on power
you should have build solar (and batteries) in addition to all the wind-mines

btw, if you survive long enough in the "final attack", the game tells you, that you shouldn't survive that long, and kills you anyway ;P

Um, you need to add capacitors for your power to increase the amount you can store. Then when you are generating a good level you can store it up for the times you lose wind, etc. Power seems to be your biggest issue. Then work on your base defences as they are seriously lacking. Thanks for showing off the game though. Cheers

This looks like Factorio and a Hack'n Slash game had a child!
In this run you seemed to favor the Hack'n Slash part over the robust Factorio resource gathering techniques.
You seemed very strapped for power and some resources so that was a hamstring for your survival.
I'd love a second run with you focusing just a little more on gathering power and resources before advancing the attack scale.
Don't get me wrong, you did really good, but you didn't heed the warnings of not enough resources when you wanted to build something and going negative in power just aggravated the issues you had.
I hope you'll try more so we can see what's beyond that place.

Radar makes it so your artillery can see further. the better radar coverage you have, the more range they get. I heard some people actually set up radar outposts at the corners of the map, so that they have full map coverage and their artillery will target stuff miles away.

Ofc if you were to do this, you'd probably be best off setting up self sufficient outposts that can defend themselves. If they end up pulling aggro as well you can use them as mega-scratching posts to keep waves off your base, or to break up bigger waves so there isn't so much heading toward your main base.

I've seen high level survival final wave defeated by just having tons of level 3 rail guns, artillery and rockets though (maybe plasma too, is that a thing?) as long as you have all the right damage types, it'll take out a whole wave without a problem. You do need a lot of towers though if you want them all to die before reaching your walls. if it's done right you don't need to have medic towers though.

This game feels like it makes you a hoarder, since you basically gotta pack your entire base wall to wall with buildings.

I've been following this channel since about Satisfacotry launch a while back. Every now and again, I see something neat that I want to try.

You can use the blaster to kill the golem, but it's not fast.

Heavilly armored enemies are countered by explosives and energy weapons. So the blaster is kind of your mid-game weapon. Fully charging it gives it an aoe I'm pretty sure. So it's pretty worth doing when you have the time.
