they finally picked a man who can play Henry VIII, good looking, red headed (not in real life but carries it well) and can play the part of a cruel and selfish person very well. if you watched Forsyte saga you know he is perfect.

My first time seeing Mark Rylance was in Bridge of Spies. At the end of the movie I said to my son that that actor was going to win the academy award.

I thoroughly enjoyed this drama, I loved the pace and the language. Damian Lewis to me is as how I imagine Henry VIII to have been. I know drama is based on the novel, but my complaint was that it made Cromwell somewhat of a hero. The reality is when one reads of his leading role in the monstrous injustice of the dissolution of the monasteries, how he fabricated and spun evidence to condemn many innocent men, such as Richard Whiting, who had done great service in their lives, the reality is that this man was a monster.

Claire Foy was the perfect choice to play Anne Boleyn (other than Natalie Dormer of course, she is... something entirely different) and I think she nailed it. Wish there was a second series.
