Sustainable Land Management in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has rich soil and plant resources that support one of the most populous countries in the world. Agriculture has been a great success over the past two decades, with output tripling. Yet the country is one of the most vulnerable in the world to the effects of climate change. Its large and growing population puts extreme pressure on natural resources and has caused significant land degradation. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, together with its government and non-government partners, has been promoting the use of sustainable land management to stop and reverse this damage.
