The NEW Landing Method to catch superheavy booster in mid-air, "Mechazilla" or as Elon describes it robot chopstick.
.
“The best part is no part; the best process is no process. It weighs nothing. Costs nothing. And can’t go wrong”
These are not my words; these are Elon's words when he was in a meeting with the design team at SpaceX to design the first version of Starship.
The same answer went from Elon on Twitter when a fan asked him about the new catching method that SpaceX is going to use in order to catch Starship booster “The so-called Superheavy” in the mid-air.
This is Elon's philosophy when it comes to designing a new thing, It's not only about trying crazy things, it's about making each step serving many other steps, in order to achieve the company's main goal; to make humans multi-planetary species as soon as possible.
They knew that the only way to achieve this; is to figure out a way that enables the fastest turnaround time for its reusable rockets; so that a single booster can handle multiple liftoffs in one day.
And that’s why SpaceX is implementing its INSANE new idea to catch its Superheavy booster instead of landing it.
Join us today as we describe The possibility of catching Superheavy in mid-air, and how SAFE this idea is compared to the normal landing method.

I’d go to Mars on the second batch, once the city is kinda running some

Having to catch the booster and Starship without legs restricts where the Starship and booster can land!

just as with the star ship landing dont expect this to work first time. probably going to be some waste before they get it working.

Great plan for landing here on Earth. How do they plan to land the Starship on the Moon and Mars?

SpaceX can save money because their culture allows them to save money.
When the Mars Direct mission was first proposed to have artificial gravity for the trip one of NASA's objections was that if they used artificial gravity all of the research they had gathered about the effects of long-term weightlessness would be useless.
When the lead was being phased out the oil companies offered an octane additive to replace the lead. The EPA stopped that in its track by saying that the additive would poison the catalytic converter. Their response to when it was pointed out that the additive would produce the same exhaust result without the need for catalytic converters the EPA said NO because they had already written the rules for requiring that all new cars be fitted with catalytic converters.
SpaceX will do what is best because they don't have such an ego-centric culture as the government does.

If something happens to the booster at launch will ship 20 take off so it doesn't blow up to

the problem is not the plane and its support but water and plants to survive of course oxygen is included in it

mechazilla will be ready for b5 most definitely. I bet they start lifting chopsticks in the next 2 weeks.

Its 7x more complex to render in pure vertical of task, getting stuck with this concept, it was impressive to further exponentially advance it. It still didn't have to cost added weight or expense for leg landing gears, using its own dermis layer skin, but individual craft was complex. Issue now with Chopstix catching, whag aboutvthe otherside? Infastructure on mare of mechbot crains, land pad etc.

wouldnt a rocket need down time for inspection, especially after each launch. sooner or later they will be deaths with space x
