The Golan Heights rises up to the east of the Sea of Galilee in the far northeast of Israel. Home to some of Israel’s most spectacular landscapes, and funniest adventures, the Golan Heights are a land of beauty, far removed from the cities of the center of the country. Eagles nest at Gamla, deer roam at Odem, whilst man gazes at the spectacular landscape from Mount Bental. In Hamat Gader, natural hot springs have been used by man for thousands of years, whilst man has recently used the snow at Mount Hermon as Israel’s only ski resort. Explore by driving off-road in an ATV, with a guide in a jeep, by foot on the hiking trails, biking on the tracks, or in a more extreme way, canyoning or rafting. The Golan Heights are truly remarkable.

My grandfather died on this land trying to recover it, but his weapon failed him.. One day I will take it back and raise the banner of my homeland Syria in it.

Quick thing for the chaps in the comments who are saying this was an “illegal annexation”:

The UN Charter says that land cannot be occupied or annexation in a war of aggression
The Golan Heights have not been annexed
They are occupied due to the Arab Coalition (Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Jordan; with help from others) losing an aggressive war in which they had tried (yet again) to destroy Israel
Israel would be willing to give this land back to Syria if they weren’t in such an unstable position, and didn’t regularly send Syrian troops into Israel.

The other lands that exchanged during this conflict were:
Sinai Peninsula - Returned to Egypt in exchange for a long-lasting ‘cold’ peace
Gaza - Israel abandoned in the hope of creating a Palestinian state
Golan Heights - Syria is not stable nor trustworthy enough to uphold peace
South Lebanon - Returned to Lebanon for peace with the state (later made redundant when Hezbollah took reigns of Lebanon)
