US Weekly is reporting that Nicki Minaj is the latest super star to sign on for the new season of American Idol.
The mag has not one, but TWO sources claiming the deal is almost finalized. One who said QUOTE: "I'm not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it... A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening
Another source added that the 29-year-old rapper is QUOTE: "100% confirmed to judge American Idol."
Now, reps for both Idol and Minaj have declined to comment as of yet -- but Nicki, who recently cancelled a number of shows in the UK due to strained vocal chords, took to her Twitter today to hint at a surprise coming our way. She tweeted QUOTE:"Ok barbz, getting another x-ray. When I get back, I'll have a surprise for u. *kisses u, hugs u*"

Lol. No one says anything about Simon or Randy who doesn't sing at all... but everyone is quick to say something about Nicki Minaj being a judge. She actually gives good advice on Idol.

If you want to be honest, Paula's voice is about on the same level as Nicki's. (coming from someone who loves them both). Paula would've been more suited for a dance competition show since that was her primary niche (like JLo). Everyone wants to spill knowledge but hasn't done the homework. Nicki can still rap but she's playing the industry smart if you ask me. Doing your own material while ALSO producing what you know for a fact will sell is genius.
