imagine this place in the early '80's ... I can. Plantation was a cool Island to chill on.

I'm an ex-surfer much like an ex-smoker or drinker the cravings, passion, urges and pain never leaves you, like living a dream and a nightmare at the same time it's tortuous to think I left something I was so attached to behind all for the usual humdrum and tiring grind of living the standard life towing a line a different line away from the push freedom and rush of this pure pursuit. Don't be like me.

WOW! That raised every hair on my body. Far too big for me, but to some degree I can feel it.

Surfed Cloudbreak twice! This wave put me off surfing any other wave.

The bigger Cloudbreak gets the more perfect it is - it is unique-!

When waves get to 35 ft +, it seems like the paddle-iinale ratio is like 10+20 percent. Tow in make- like 60-80 percent

Isn't that Luke Shepherdson, 2023 Eddie Invitational 's champ, in a fluo green inflatable vest?

Luke shows the limits of paddling in at 0:59-1:12. He does everything about as well as can be done. Make the drop, uses all that energy to get speed down the line, and still can not hold enough speed to keep from getting swallowed. The board is just too big...too much friction. The small, narrow, heavy tow boards can just generate so much more speed. The guys paddling in are warriors, but at some point you just have to acknowledge it is not the right tool for the job. The guys towing look like they are having so much more fun. The can actually ride the wave. The guys paddling, are just trying to survive.

That last wave HAS to be the best wave ridden there that was at least filmed
