The issue with Beck and Jade’s relationship is that Jade was very judgemental of everything beck did. The problem with Beck is that he was so oblivious that many girls liked him and didn’t seem to care as they hit on him while he dated Jade

In hindsight Jade was very obviously insecure and had many, many other issues below the surface. She may have been toxic but I think why Beck handled her so well was because he knew her beyond that. I think if this show wasn’t written for kids and had a deep dive into her character and had her work through some things it would’ve been a very deep and untouchable type of relationship
