a lot of jrpg final bosses have attacks where it looks like they destroy the earth, except not really

bravely default is the only game i've seen that actually acknowledges what just happened

Bravely Default’s final boss theme acts as a remix of the most important songs from the game, songs such as “Wicked Battle, ” “Wicked Flight, ” and “Horizon of Light and Shadow” play in the first half of the song, and as the fight proceeds, more songs play until the fifth and final phase of the fight. During this point, the themes of the four main characters, the Warriors of Light play.
Revo, a composer who has a deep understanding of the emotional power of music, decided to play the party’s themes at the end of the battle on purpose, as during this battle the player is worn down and slowly loses all their friend summons, their Magic Points, and their Hit Points; in the final phase, they are at death’s door, that’s when Tiz’s theme plays, followed by Agnés’, Edea’s, and finally Ringabel’s. This sequence will pump the player up, as these songs are only used when the characters are at their most powerful, and that is an amazing use of conditioning the player. This is immediately followed by the leitmotif of “Overture Leading to Hope” and finally a bit of the song “Victory’s Chime” which plays at the end of a battle. These songs are used to show the player that they are in the final stretch, and they just need to “Brave” a bit more.

I remember being absolutely out of it when the "other world" ended being ours through the lens of the 3DS

10 years later I still think this is the best final boss theme of all time.

I just beat bravely default for the first time yesterday (after picking it up after over 7 years of not playing), and I've got to say, this is probably my favourite final boss theme of all time. It starts out as ouroboros's theme, but then it becomes yours alternating between you.

I had a mini heart attack when the full OST video and all the highest quality single tracks started to disappear from youtube. Thank god I can still find this now.

I couldn't figure out why there were so many comments in the past 24 hours in a video that was uploaded 6 years ago, and then I read about the past video taken down and its amazing comment section. I really missed something, I guess.
