How To: Pick Up and Knit Stitches Along the Edge of Your Work

Показать описание
Learn two methods for picking up and knitting stitches along the edge of your working, using the principles from the Golden Ratio method.

If you wish to knit a sample and practice, the swatch is worked on a super-bulky yarn using US 10 needles.

Cast on 16 sts using the Long Tail cast on method.
Row 1 (RS): Knit.
Row 2 (WS): Purl.

Repeat [Rows 1 and 2] 7 more times (16 rows total).
Bind off knitwise with the RS facing.

To work the Pick Up THEN Knit method, you can use a double-pointed needle that is smaller than your working needle by several sizes. This video uses a US 7 to pick up the bars.

Thanks for the tutorial. I usually use the first method for pickup. I think I like that second method using the bars. I’ll have to give that a try.

Outstanding video. Is there any preference for method. Such as type of yarn etc

Good video but it would have been better if you didn't use fuzzy yarn. But still, a really good tutorial.

Can someone please point me in the direction of a video that shows me how to cast on mid row. For example? Pickup and knit 2 cast on 4, skip 4 pick up and knit 2. 😢
