The Operation Frequent Wind

Operation Frequent Wind, executed on April 29-30, 1975, marked the last phase of the U.S. evacuation from Saigon, signaling the end of the Vietnam War. Over those two days, American helicopters ferried more than 7,000 people to safety aboard U.S. Navy ships, amidst chaotic scenes as North Vietnamese forces closed in on the city. This operation remains the largest helicopter evacuation in history.
