In today's video I will be disassembling a wedge gate valve. These types f gate valves come in a variety of configurations. You can have a flexible wedge gate design, solid wedge, Outside Stem & Yoke (OS&Y), threaded, flanged and more. Even though there are multiple configurations. A majority of wedge gate valves follow the same concept.

The will consist of a Body, Gate, Integral or removable seats, Bonnet, Stem, Packing, Packing gland, & a handwheel. The way the valve functions is by sliding vertically up and down wedging the gate in between 2 seats.

This video breaks down a valve showing where each part is located and how it functions. This video is meant to give you a quick overview. However, these valves can get pretty complex with Trims, and accessories.
