Did you know the world’s biggest passenger plane flies one of the shortest routes? Emirates operates an Airbus A380 on a flight between Dubai and Muscat, Oman—a distance of just 340 km (211 miles)!

The flight takes only 40 minutes, and the plane spends more time taxiing on the runway than actually flying. So, why would Emirates use such a massive aircraft for such a short trip? It all comes down to huge passenger demand—the A380’s 480+ seats make it perfect for even short routes.

Would you take a 40-minute flight on an Airbus A380? Let us know in the comments!

More than likely there are a lot of people making that trip. Kind of stupid to make a bunch of flights when you can get the job done with one.
