Giannis identifies himself as Greek-Nigerian and that's all that matters.
He is of Nigerian ancestry, born and raised in Greece.
Just like all these Americans that claim to be Italian-Americans, Greek-Americans etc.
Btw, his parents were "stateless immigrants", meaning they had no Nigerian papers, hence it was very difficult for Giannis to receive Nationality.
Giannis speaks Greek, went to a Greek school, is vacationing every year in Greece and btw he also got married in Greece! Not US, not Nigeria!
