They should have a 'Real' Miss America pageant where plastic surgery is against the rules. I think if people are going to be in pageants (which I'm not the biggest fan of to begin with) I think it should showcase their natural beauty.

What if they want plastic surgery to feel more confident about themselves? Many girls do it simply because they like it or want to feel more comfortable in their own skin, not to appeal to other people.

In the contract every contestant must sign beginning at the local level, there is a clause that states that you have and always have been a woman, so absolutely not.

Good point. : ) ..but, I think it might also prove my point?As, why do they feel uncomfortable in the first place, in their own skin as you put it? See my point.Ultimately, they will decide for themselves but, I hope it's not just a greedy type of doctor that is suggesting that that is reality, when it's not going to improve their objective beauty in the eyes of others, only fullfill the suggestion of it as almost by cultural and the surgeons almost hypnotic suggestion of it?

It might even be exploitation to women, atleast some by pushing all their self-image related neurotic ' oh, gee am I good enough?' angst or uncertainty; even very beautiful women I have met had no clue they were so! It's hard to convince them they are beautiful, even if they are if they have fallen under some kind of suggestion or mind spell they are not, from someone, the media, or from other inner turmoil of the inner woman's heart.
Is it sadly, like exploiting and parading pets in shows even?

2B..then there is medical corrective surgery; but, I am not referrring to that. Some people need corrective surgery because of car accidents, ect or being somehow born with a dysfunction, and can't eat food properly, ect. Doctors can do wonders there to correct those things and, that I admire, otoh.
Also, look at all the surgery that goes wrong: breast implants that are painful, noses that are ruined and better off before untouched.But, someone insulted them &, they go insecure?

I think it's something in the culture &/or system that encourages women to a highly neurotic degree of uncertainty and, indeed confusion: ( all breasts are fine, naturally as they are, any size, as it fits the women, ..big breasts is an American cultural myth, lorded onto both boys and girls when they grow up. But, many men also like firm small breasts. In S Arabia they prefer rounder woman, I have heard, not Twiggy-look hyped in London fashion of mid-60's.

..there are some women who have had accidents or need therapeutic surgery to function, eat, smile ect but, I doubt any of these women did. Sometimes, they end up looking worse than they once did, as we have also seen at times. Stop being exploited by fake quacky doctors who exploit you, which a good surgeon will not but, advise often talk therapy, exercise or something or a natural product, nutrition counselling, ect
OK, I tried to help some young girl from wasting her money, now, I guess.

2. feelings rule the decision but, think it through very thoroougly, would be my, (layman, friend's) advice: it's money that could go to other things as a nice vacation, ect
But, i'ts no solid rule written in stone to me, that fits all; I can see why some, esp rich people like Lady Gaga might use surgery to form their popstar image &, I wouldn't attempt to argue with her if she was my sister or girlfriend! ..lol, ain't gonna happen! I would just accept her as she is with all her neurotic foibles
