I absolutely LOVE every bit of the dirt track scene with the old police car, gives such an old school vibe!

That's an Olds 403 for 180hp, in 79 the W72 400 Pontiac was rated at 220hp (and only with the 4 speed)

I love all the T/A variations over the years. Such a great concept and design. Awesome video!

Many incorrect statements. 1979 was the best year for sales, 117, 108 and less than 100, 000 were sold in 1978 (93, 341). This was not a good deal at $16.5. It's a 403 Olds which was the base engine for 1979, the optional Pontiac 400 (only paired with a four speed Super T-10 in 1979) was a $90 option. The 301 Pontiac V8 got the buyer a credit. The engine turned dash plate on this car has provisions for AC, yet this appears to be a non-AC car. There's been a lot of hands in this car over the years and it's far from "original". That's the wrong radiator----it's a generic made in China replacement from the parts store. The shifter inlay plate is incorrect for a 1979 non SE/LE car, it should be black, not engine turned like that.

1979 was the last year for the 400 Pontiac engine and although the front end is not liked by some, they are not less popular than their 1977-1978 counterparts. The 400 W72 in 1977 had less HP than it did in 1978-1979 (200 HP in 1977, 220HP in 1978-1979). The fuel cap is wrong, the underhood hose clamps are wrong, they should be Wittek tower type clamps. As others have pointed out, that's the wrong hood scoop decal for a 403 Olds equipped car. The T/A 6.6 decal for 1979 is only for a Pontiac 400 W72 (that was the only version of the 400 offered in 1979). This car should have a "6.6 LITRE" decal as it is a 403 equipped car. "6.6 LITRE" is correct for 1977-1979 403 equipped cars and 1977-1978 base (non W72) Pontiac 400 equipped cars. T/A 6.6 on the scoop is always for a Pontiac engine and always for the W72 higher output version.

It appears to have headers and this car has likely been repainted due to the wrong decal on the scoop. At best this is a $8-$10k car and that's being generous.

The Screaming chicken looks so good, I just don't understand why they are not standard on every car.

Fun Show. Repair Costs seem consistent with current shop charge fees

One of my alltime favorite cars still! Hows your friend doing that injured himself in that crash a couple few years ago?

If you want a 1970-81 F body and have fun, buy a 4 speed. I ordered new Z/28's in 1977, 78 and 80. And also owned a 1968 Z/28 in 1974 and a 1971 Z/28 in 1975. My current Z/28 is a 1970 which I bought in 1981 from the orig owmer who 2 yrs ago asked if it was for sale.

I recognized EurasianAuto from the episode and I asked myself "where's Bob?" And then I saw "Buford T Justice." There's Bob! I am dying to know whether that was a real mustache he grew for the bit or excellent make-up work. This episode brought back memories of my big cousin Gregg and his silver T/A with t-tops and the blue thunder chicken on the hood.

In an unrelated story, dozens of cats died in that neighborhood where you blew a hose clamp.
