The US is moving towards a repeat of the stock market crash of 1929.

As an American of clear conscience, who has taken a healthy number of economics courses (as well as ethics/sociology 👀) i know how bad this is for our country, and our trade partners… so… I gotta say, it’s my personal hope that our trade partners leave this administration blowing in the wind. Not only for their shameful strongarm methods, but also their lack of sincerity/honesty/etc. and their general lack of common decency… Even if it means temporarily hurting the US economy to the point I need to put my life goals off by a couple years, I’m willing to deal with it, so long as our NATO partners make a proper example of this administration, to the point where it wakes people up here domestically… I don’t ever wanna see another administration like this one threaten our safety, and standing on the global stage… period.

Yes, what a big mess ! And we, the people, will pay the price of it. Billionaires don't care unless their companies lose money as well

The rest of the world can move on together. We will suffer as a result. Someone else can provide the things they aren't buying from us. Trump will go down as the president who ended the US's place in the global economy.

Neither, the rest of the world will say: that's OK, we the free world are going to make business without you!

“Tariff consequences unknown”??? As if we’ve never done tariffs before? Remember the 30s Depression? Precipitated by tariffs. With our interwoven supply chains, it would be as bad but probably worse.

Not all consequences are unknown. Prices going up this much will make it impossible for many to stay out of poverty, while the billionaires retire to their beach resorts.

Horrific. Big f'n mess is an understatement. He's manipulating the markets. I guarantee there were people in the know positioned short to profit from that yuge after-hours crash. It's called insider trading.

It is a certainty that the rich are the only people in a position to take advantage of these changes. It is equally certain that the people who will suffer the most are those who are not rich.

Ultimately, the American economy is in a dire state, and avaricious corporations have relentlessly driven up the prices of goods across supermarkets and retail establishments.
