I’ve been going to a local casino a lot more often lately. I had a host come up to me and introduce himself. He offered me a free room instead of driving back home 2 hours away. I took him up on that offer. He gave me all his information so I can book a future trip with him. It was a nice surprise

With my limit of playing, I would be lucky if a casino would even offer me a hostess cake. 🤪👍. Thanks for the video.

Yes! I got a shout out!! That trick Dave mentioned from me has worked several times for friends. They don’t play enough yet to get the comps but they are building a relationship and every trip they check in with the host and find out how close they are and what they need to get better perks.

Also one huge perk is you get invited to invitational slot, blackjack, and poker tournaments. They usually are free and have real good prizes!

i had a host contact me several years ago. it was kind of a wake-up call to tell me maybe i was gambling above my means. sure enough i realized my bank account, and credit cards were drained as well as my 401k. i realized i had a problem and quicky backed off util i don't go any more. i don't know how much worse things might have gotten if not for that host calling. just a different perspective but great info from you guys as always.

Good Morning Dave. Don't play enough for a host but it's still interesting.

Great video. I have been contacted by hosts, casino marketing reps, etc. What my experience has been is that i can do the same thing online regarding booking things and have never been offered more "free play" which is my preferred benefit.

Honestly i would rather not have one because i feel people would feel obligated to spend more than they normally would to impress or satisfy a host.

My Executive Casino Host at Circa Las Vegas was too busy for me. Giving me one word responses through text. My other host at Golden Nugget Las Vegas treat us very good, always giving us complimentary rooms and events. I guess my family and I won't be spending time at Circa.

Hi Dave 😎 my mom and I are not high rollers but we go about once a month to Delta Downs and 2 months ago right before a slot tournament my mom suddenly heard from a Host! We got to the casino and she found us, introduced herself, invited us to an area where she had cupcakes and cookies for her “people” and that was that. Well….a few weeks later it was Saturday morning and my mom and I impulsively decided to go to Delta but alas it was too late to get a comped room. We emailed her host and boom! Not even 30 minutes later she replied with a room reservation for a comped night!! And my host, he always finds me and wishes me luck, and he says if there’s anything I can do for you let me know. Well i finally did ask for $20 food comps and I felt a bit guilty for asking, but he said sure, and my mom and I ate for free with my host and stayed for free with her host! Yay Delta Downs in Vinton, Louisiana!! 🎉🎉🎉 (now let’s work on a smoke free area please 😉)

the things people miss about this topic. it’s silly to gamble IN ORDER TO get comps. but, if you’re gambling anyway at a certain level your SHOULD be getting comps. if you gamble $10k over a trip and not getting SOMETHING then you’re just leaving $ on the table.

Great video on getting a host. Actually at Foxwoods they came to me while i was on a machine and that's how I got a host.
I was coming there on 1 of my birthdays with a group of people. He made all my hotel reservations so we were all on the same floor, my birthday dinner reservation. Included 2 bottles of wine and birthday dessert. All on them.
So you are right. If u qualify to them, they cld give you the moon! 😅

We have an executive host at the Golden Nugget in Biloxi, Ms. She always upgrades us to Executive Suites and gets us free meals. I know that's her job, but we do tip her as well!

I have an assigned host at Circa and South Point but I just use the offers from the casinos promotions offers which has nothing to do with the host. If i use the resort and or food and beverage credits I will ask for comps from my host. Or if theres a balance of charges to my room Ill let the host take care of it.

This info was very informative for me, as I knew little to nothing about hosts before watching this. Thanks.

A better analogy for a casino host is a stripper or a fichera: they will be nice to you and offer you things as long as the money keeps flowing. Your "friendly" host will have no time for you if job loss, divorce, other life event, or just a decision to gamble less results in you spending less.
Never feel pressured to gamble more or at all. Do not feel guilty because your host is telling you that you are not playing enough for the level of "gifts" that you are receiving. The host is not your friend. The value of the stuff the casino "gives" you is nowhere near what you are losing.

i played quite a bit over a three month span. i wasn't even considering a host during this time. then, out of the blue, a host of the casino walked up to me while i was playing, introduced herself and asked me if i was planning to eat that evening. she credited me $300 for food, comped a room, and gave me $300 in freeplay. she's been absolutely wonderful and this has encouraged me to return.

I have had 2 different hosts both retired. The last one retired end of June. She told me I would be hearing from my new one. Have not heard anything so called the casino I frequent and got in touch with player development . They told me the name of my new host and said she will contact me. It will be interesting to see how long this takes. My past host was able to get me free late checkout, dinner reservations with a food beverage comp. It is always good to have a go to contact person if you have requests or wuestions
