Sasaki being a bully is a meme. Back in the day, one of her most popular clips was of her kicking a ball out from under Shiina (her best friend, for the record) while she tried balancing on it, and another was in a collab with Aqua (and Shiina and Okayu) where she pretended to be physically threatening her to say nice things about her. So people started calling her "bully panda, " but it's all in jest. To my knowledge, no one thinks she's an actual bully, unless newer fans just didn't pick up on the sarcasm.

Sasaki, Honhima and Moruru debuted together and made a pact that they'd all graduate together as well, but Sasaki actually graduated alone just a few months later for some reason, then returned just 66 days later, making it the first (and so far only) time a corporate vtuber returned after graduating. She didn't say why she was graduating, but I was told it was actually because Nijisanji couldn't get Nintendo permissions. It's kinda' hard to believe since permissions weren't really a thing back then and they actually have some kind of partnership with Nintendo nowadays, but Sasaki is absolutely the kind of person to make a big deal out of something like that, so who knows? Her fans were upset with her and she released a song complaining that she just wanted to upload her body to the Internet and she was mad at her coworkers for not welcoming her back (only Belmond did IIRC and she barely knew him since he debuted just a couple months before she graduated). Moruru graduated half a year later and it was actually just seven months after that when Luna debuted in Hololive's 4th generation.

10:27 while the clip is about toxic work culture in general, luna _specifically_ mentions what it's like being a _programmer_, which with her knowledge on the subject makes it a pretty clear self insert and something she probably experienced outside of her vtubing activities.

It's actually concerning that fans felt betrayed by her just because she moved agencies. The whole corporation blind loyalty thing is the thing that truly makes me nervous. Good to hear that she wasn't actually bullied thought and just left for better opportunities and because she wanted to, or at least there's no evidence that she left for any other reason than that other than fan speculation.

The rrat that she was bullied out of Nijisanji seems very widely believed yet difficult to verify due to language barriers. Glad you did a deep dive & I think I'll trust your research as the most credible account of what happened given the limited information.
It is possible that, similarly to what Oda Nobuhime once said as a reason she wouldn't join Nijisanji, Yamiyono Moruru may have determined that she will never stand out in Nijisanji, always compared to Saku Sasaki. By joining Hololive she'd have a better chance & indeed it paid off. While I'm comfortable never knowing the full truth, I'm content knowing that the person formerly known as Yamiyono Moruru is happier & successful today in Hololive as Himemori Luna.

It‘s a story that needs more attention. It shows all the hardships and pain she went through. But now she found her happiness!

I knew about the Yamiyono case not so long ago and probably I only know the surface of what really happened. But the whole situation is really sad ..
Since then I have more respect for her and her career.
It‘s great to see she got reincarnated as a princess in a more brighter world. I‘m glad she‘s now in a better place! :D


Update:
After watching the video I'm glad most of them are rumors without any clear evidence.
I think many used the Yamiyono Moruru video from 2021 as reference of information where most allegations are summerized.
I don't know if those allegations of a bad work enviroment (9:50) or being in bad terms (6:29/10:58) are the reason for Moruru's retirement, which lead to her message about "her old workplace" (at 8:40). Or it's just differences in creative direction and Moruru saw an opportunity to realize her goals with hololive (14:13). There are no factual evidence that can proof nor deny those allegations, and probably we won't get any answers.
But honestly, I rather have this as a non-factual rumor, than it's to be real where Yamiyono Moruru really had to went though all of that. But that's not important.

Most important is, Luna found a good place, where she can be creatively free for Livestreams, cover & original songs, playing game together with Subaru, Botan & Choco, and can feel at ease! :D
