Sony Xperia Z3 blank screen fix

Damn man, glad I found your tip, cuz I was going nuts with my phone! Since a few weeks the screen would remain dark while placing or answering a call and I couldn't do anything until the other party hung up...
Tried some software tricks, but nothing really helped.
After this at least it is working again (even though the proximity sensor is still super slow to react).

I read a forum before watching this video so I don't know if this works. BUT pressing the power button and the up button at the same time, and holding it for 5 seconds, worked wonders for me! So in case that tiny button doesn't work for you, there is a plan b :)

Thanks for the tip. Woke up this morning with my screen all black, but my notification light was blinking, so I knew it was technically still powered up.

My phone died on my last night, ran out of batteri.
But after charging for like 30 min, it still wouldnt turn on. This fixed it!

Thanks for the tip 😀😀 tried this solution for three times and did not work but in my fourth try i left it shut down for atleast 2 hours and when i switched it backed on, guess what, it worked so thanks again

Thank you. Still trying to get it to work but at least I am able to turn it off now to safely remove my sim and SD card.

Hi there Chris! Does doing this erase the data on your phone? My problem is my screen is black (but it does work since the touch screen sounds in all the "right places", and the phone too)

Since this is the first hit on Google when you type "sony xperia m5 black screen" into google I'd like to add the following:
1) this did not work for me. I held in the button a few times at intervals ranging from a second to 30 seconds.
2) After I had done this I plugged it into a usb slot on a computer then pressed the power button on the phone. This worked. I have no idea why. The phone was 75% charged so it wasn't a battery issue.

please tell me this isn't a prank?? my z3 had the same problem, (blank screen with responsive sound touch input). but Ive already sent off my phone to the shop!
