My neighbor was a ol black man we'll call him Curtis for this story. He had an ol skidder he used in the fall logging hardwoods for extra cash. I think it was a 60s or 70s model beat to hell but unstoppable. Had a Detroit diesel engine no exhaust just straight manifold to turbo. I was terrified of this thing as a kid. It was the most in unholy evil monster crawling out of hell sound. But only skidder I ever seen that could pull 6 massive white oaks canopy and all out the woods all at one time. No bullshit you could hear this thing winding up 15 miles away.

around 40 years ago I remember laying in my yard and playing with my hot wheels and this sound was always in the air, my dad and grandad had a saw mill and it was powered by a Detroit. when you know that sound you never forget it,

Best pull I’ve seen in a long time. A perfect example of why counterweights make the traction worse. You see science working right here… the angle of the tractor offsets the drag and as long as the torque range is kept at its peak, the tractor will be the victor!
