MeshCentral #2 - a self hosted, open source Remote Management tool like TeamViewer, Bomgar, Anydesk

If you have been looking for a self-hosted, open source, free way to do remote support for yourself, your family, your friends, your business, or anything else, this is an excellent tool for doing exactly that.

The best part is we can now install MeshCentral with Docker, and this makes it so much easier to get going. It was already easy, but now it's even simpler. We are going to install it, and setup NGinX Proxy Manager to give our install a Fully Qualified Domain Name and LetsEncrypt for CA Certified SSL Encryption.

Excellent video! I was able to get this set up in just a few minutes on a VM in Proxmox, and now I have easy access to all of my devices, even those in the cloud such as my work PC and the VPS's I have in the cloud. Thanks for the info!

First off, I love your videos. Keep them coming! Secondly (I haven't had a chance to watch the video all the way through), does it have the Bomgar functionality where I could send a link, they get a download and run the app without a permanent install? I use Bomgar at work and would find that very useful over something like Remotely (which I have installed because of you!)

Great tutorial, Install went flawlessly. There was a difference between the video install version of MeshCentral and actual. The actual install 1.16 where the video is 2.11. Would like to know how to upgrade

Awesome video! Newbie question - What if you don't use NGinX Proxy Manager? Running on Ubuntu 20.04 lts is there anything special running letsencrypt through something like certbot?

Great tutorial! Would have been interested to see how to execute a command on several linux machines at a time, like ‚sudo apt update && apt upgrade -y‘, as there seems to be the possibility to group machines.

Hello, first of all thank you for the great content. I tried to follow exactly the same steps as you did however when I add the settings in Nginx, I am not able to access MeshCentral. Note: I have both Nginx and MeshCentral running in Docker compose on the same host. I tried referencing it via public IP, internal IP, internal hostname. No success

Installed and works correctly on LAN but on WAN the login form is missing, just shows the background image and the MeshCental logo, I cannot login via WAN

Followed this guide, only difference is using Swag rather than NPM which for some reason I could never get working.

Unfortunately none of my linux machines show up after the install.

Thanks for the video. Does this solution work on a multisession environment? I have a Windows 10 which RDPWarp has removed the RDP multi session limits, now I need to view each logged in user's screen. TeamViewer and AnyDesk didn't work.

Am I correct that this only works on an X86 platform? I tried to install it on ARM and it wouldn't run. I received "exec format error" which typically indicates a platform incompatibility.

and just keep ./data & ./user_files, because you have create a sub-folder call MeshCentral on your system already ???

When i check server version it sais 1.0.36 and can be upgraded to 1.0.45 but when i click "start self update" my web session just disconnects and when i reconnect, the version still the same. Does any body know how to update version now?
