How to Tie the Drop Shot - Dropper Loop Knot (for Perch, Bass and Walleye)

Honestly, what could be simpler than a drop-shot rig? The essence of the whole rig is so basic yet extremely productive and just as effective as the universal round-ball jig. If not more.

Tying a Drop-Shot rig using the Dropper Loop Knot has got to be the easiest of all and good for a variety of fish species.

I had been using a 3 wrap surgeon's loop for this type of rig. I'll have to try this and see which has a better knot strength

Great info, suggest you make the leader loop a bit slower for the viewers, AND...
Show how to do make a double dropper, like most perch rigs have. One is approx 6 inch off bottom, the other dropper about a foot up. Also one must practice, calculate the proper size loop, so when you snip it, and tie hook to it, the dropper line is the legal lengths, " 3inch", I believe.
The Method and concept are great . One Lake Michigan, Perch guy, just leaves an Aberdeen hook dangling in a Loop, doesn't snip the loop, : Note... the loop hangs out away from leader line, and doesn't tangle around against leader. But before, people have Toddler meltdowns, I full realise, every Fisherman has his own way of doing things, and thats just Fine, but at Times, makes one say, " I never really thought of doing it that way" . Good Luck to all this year.

Great idea to avoid hardware but how do you ensure the hook point faces upward with that separate lead?
