Celeron G1820 in 2022 | Can 2 Cores Survive Modern Games?

The Celeron G1820 was a 2014 entry level CPU priced around the 40-50$ mark and was aimed at people who just wanted to get up and running with their LGA 1150 setup or those who wanted to have a nice family PC on a tight budget.
So this means it was never really meant to be a gaming CPU, but regardless of that I decided to put it through a roster of newer titles to see how bad of an experience you can have with a 2 core CPU in 2022.

2 cores are OK for older or not FPS-ones until around 2013-14. Friend used E8400 (Core2Duo 3GHz) with AMD7850/2GB until 2019. But he played mostly older strategy titles. Even older C2D Quad-cores can improve things a lot! Used to play Civ4 with overclocked Q6600 (2.4->3.0GHz) and it helped a lot.

Funny thing is that in Saints Row 3 DX11 this CPU with RX550 4GB runs at 12 FPS but on DX9/10 30-40 fps XD

There is still dual core cpus as of today, 12th gen has 2c/2t and 2c/4t cpus

if you have a 1150 socket, you can put a 1230v3 and runs like a i7 4770💪🐻

If you want just game just buy an X-Box or PlayStation. Computers are a multipurpose tool. Although computers can be used for gaming, gaming is just one small part of owning and using a machine/processor of this sort.
