Michigan is a leader in chemistry innovation, and in 2020 two more groups in our state received the prestigious recognition of EPA Green Chemistry Challenge Awards. This program featured each of those awardees: Dr. Robert Kennedy of Vestaron, which developed a new biopesticide based on naturally-occurring peptides, and Professor Steven Skerlos of the University of Michigan and Fusion Coolant Systems, which created a metalworking product using high-pressure CO2 as an alternative to oil-based metalworking lubricants. The webinar shared more about these companies, how their products incorporate the principles of green chemistry, and how business trends and public policies impact the development of green chemistry solutions.
