1970 Plymouth 'Cuda 426 Hemi Cuda Barracuda Orange & Unrestored - My Car Story with Lou Costabile

On “My Car Story” we're in Rosemont IL at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals on 11-20-14.

We’re looking at a 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda 426 Hemi Cuda Barracuda Orange & unrestored.

The car's Owner is David Beem. David’s had this car since 2013. While driving he noticed this car in a garage. He pulled over, talked to the only and original Owner of this original unrestored car, and after some time successfully ended up purchasing the car.

Wow, I haven't seen that old Cuda in years. I grew up in Raton & worked for Gary @ Wilson Oil when I was just a teenager. He would drive it every once in a while & I would tease him about blowing his doors off with my 427 powered 68 SSRS Camaro, but he would never line up. I knew his daughter inherited that car after his death. Nice to see it again.

When Dave bought it from the original owner's children, there were air shocks and a tow hitch on the rear... Story we heard was when new in Arizona, the owner reportedly towed an Orange and white hemi powered jet boat behind the car.
He waited a week on this car... and only had to wait overnight on his Original paint Daytona Yellow 69 Yenko, which was more excruciating, I assure you. The Daytona Yellow Yenko is the only one Dave ever wanted. lol

Gives you something to strive for... in 1990 at 19 he started a body shop, many years later he did up a 69 quarter panel painted yellow with a yenko stripe on it... said that was as close to owning a real DY Yenko Camaro he would ever get...
in 2015-16 he bought a one owner original paint X66 Yenko out of the first batch. Gorgeous original paint...

What a lovely car. I can just imagine what he went through waiting for a week, if they would sell the car to him; Wow, what a deal of a life time. I bet he had a sleepless week. Awesome.
