Donald Trump is under orders not to intimidate witnesses or prosecutors in his pending criminal cases, but that didn't stop him from demanding "an eye for an eye" in a recent online video. Former Watergate prosecutor Jill Wine-Banks, NBC News Justice Reporter Ryan Reilly and former Republican Rep. Charles Dent join American Voices guest host Julian Castro to discuss why Trump's comments aren't getting him in trouble with judges and whether he can win the White House if convicted.

No. He's not skirting. He's stepped OVER the line repeatedly. Incarcerate him. Seize his phone and passport. Convict him. Sentence him. Jail him.

No he is *_NOT_* "skirting the line!" He is *_crossing_* the line, *_over, and over again, _* because there is *_not one single judge in America, who will enforce American law, against the leader of the confederaterrorist party._* And if the judges are too craven then *WHO* is meant to step forward on behalf of civilized society?

He's threatened judges and prosecutors. No consequences

He is not skirting the line. He is over the line. Our media uses the word ‘skirting’ to continue to enable this criminal.

If only Fani Willis was the Judge instead of being the prosecutor... She would have him locked up by now, she got guts

I got contempt of court for saying something stupid to a judge, yet he can threatened a judge with no recourse shows me all I need to know that there is two justice systems

Wait a minute! "The American people are not going to vote for a convicted criminal." Yet she raised her hand to support Trump at the debate. What gives? Wishy washy.

Skirting the line? He's PASSED the line, repeatedly. Look. It doesn't matter that he's a former president. It does not matter that he's running for re-election. All citizens are equal under the law. Right? Take him into custody, take away his social media toys and his cans of spray-on tan, and incarcerate him pending trial.

Nikki Haley makes no sense. She stood on stage on live TV and said she would support Trump if he was the nominee. So she is saying the American people wouldn't but she would??
I agree most American people won't vote for Trump, but that makes more of a reason not to vote for her or the other Republicans who rose their hand on stage that night.

He's over the line and should be held in confinement until trial for violating his bail conditions.

It is beyond ridiculous already.
trump is beyond ridiculous.
And it is beyond ridiculous, dangerous, and irresponsible that he _still_ is allowed to roam free and do and say as he fancies.
Surreal.

As an African who has had to emigrate to Europe because human rights are often not respected in my country, I am amazed by the weakness of the American justice system. I never thought this could happen in America. Lock him up

"It is fear that makes people so willing to follow brash, strong-looking demagogues . . . capable of cleansing the world of the vague, the weak, the uncertain, the evil. Ah, to give oneself over to their direction—what calm, what relief."

-- Ruth Ben-Ghiat,  Strongmen: Mus solini to the Present

“If there is one fact we really can prove, from the history that we really do know, it is that despotism can be a development, often a late development and very often indeed the end of societies that have been highly democratic. A despotism may almost be defined as a tired democracy. As fatigue falls on a community, the citizens are less inclined for that eternal vigilance which has truly been called the price of liberty; and they prefer to arm only one single sentinel to watch the city while they sleep.”

― G.K. Chesterton, The Everlasting Man

Personally I prefer to stay awake. Vote 💙.

This stupid idea about not incarcerating him for threatening people is the exact reason the legal system is useless! Two rules...normal people go to Jail, Trump does whatever he wants....

What she said is patently untrue. Threatening the judges and the prosecutors is ABSOLUTLELY actionable and he was warned against it. It falls VERY clearly under interfering with the judicial process. So there is no skirting the line here. He has already directly violated the terms of his pretrial release. Besides he has already categorically witness tampered since signing he agreement by very publically telling a witness due to testify the very next day not to do so. He did it in a tweet for all to see. So he is not locked up right now because they are afraid to do it. Period.
