Wally's race with Mercury in The Flash #55 was before he had broken down the mental block keeping him from surpassing Barry AND before he entered the Speed Force during his fight with Kobra and came out fuckin' crazy fast. So that doesn't count at all, Wally was nowhere near his fastest. I'm sure if they raced now Wally would wreck him. (As soon as they fix this heart condition thing that Damian just caused. Little bastard!)

Also, Injustice Barry is super slow. He gets shot in Injustice 2. That shouldn't be possible.

I doubt Shazam has access to the FULL speed of Hermes, as evident in the disparity between his and Zeus' power. So just because Hermes is faster doesn't mean Shazam also is.

What I got from this is Shazam is nerfed when he does anything with anyone else, cause being faster than a flash along with having his various powers should make him one of if not the most versatile heros out there.

• *Do you seriously believe this?* - I BY NO MEANS think this theory is true. It was just a fun thought experiment that let me showcase a lot of comic book lore and mechanics that aren't frequently discussed. It would make no sense for Flash to be slower than other characters, especially a non-speedster since going fast is literally the whole point of the character.
• *Doesn't "The Great Race" in DC Nation #2 debunk this?* - It absolutely does, but it came out a year after this video was made.

always thought that they were equal due to the fact at least to my knowledge that one has never been portrayed to be faster than the other. Until Justice #7 Superman says to Captain Marvel before you use the lighting since you have the speed of a God (Mercury) just Grab onto him(flash). Now this is my question and keep in mind this is to prevent CM from using the lighting. Why wouldn't Superman try to grab flash instead of asking Captain Marvel to do so. Do you guys think that Supes was implying that he wasn't fast enough to do so but CM is and did?

Well flash became a lot faster while the comics evolved, and his speed seems really inconsistent. The flash of earlier comics isnt as fast as the current one regardless of wether he powered up or not, simply because the writers deemed so. In the way the right him now I think he is faster than Mercury in spite of being raced from him in the past.
