this was interesting for something that is bandied about so much in popular culture. not sure i was able to process it all but i'm interested in how zizek applies it. the image from portrait of a young lady on fire felt a bit misleading, but the object gzing back at the seer made me connect the two anyway.

Good morning Julian - you mentioned in your video of Lacan's most important idea (as well as a host of other videos) that the main outcome and cause of the death drive / objet petit a / goal of all desire is Surplus Enjoyment. can you please do a lecture then on Surplus Enjoyment breaking down the idea, and why it is this seeming motivating principle behind most of our behavior?

The audio quality is fine, but the volume is way too low. I pretty much have to double my volume to listen. It's worth the trouble but, I would prefer not to.
