AWS re:Invent 2022 - Schellman Compliance/Seven Bridges Genomics | Amazon Web Services

Seven Bridges is the leading biomedical data company, specializing in software and data analytics to drive public and private healthcare research. They deliver end-to-end bioinformatic solutions, including access to datasets, analytic workflows and algorithms, cloud-computing infrastructure, and scientific support, that speed the path from raw experimental data to new treatments and diagnostics. They are an AWS customer, and analyze more than 10 petabytes of genomic data in support of precision medicine projects and cases.

To enable researchers access to these public genomic data sets, they needed Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) authorization. FedRAMP is the US Federal Governments standardized approach to security authorizations for the Cloud, and is one of the most difficult accomplishments to achieve in the world of compliance.

Based in Tampa, FL, Schellman is an ATO on AWS Partner, and is a leading provider of attestation and compliance services. They are a globally licensed PCI Qualified Security Assessor, an ISO Certification Body, HITRUST CSF Assessor, CMMC C3PAO, and a FedRAMP 3PAO. Schellman performed the FedRAMP assessment of the Seven Bridges Platform, a cloud-based environment for conducting bioinformatic analyses.
