Guinea Pigs React to Surprise Amazon Haul!

Four fun packages all for the piggies - see what they think and how they react as I open them up inside the cage! The piggies have been acting rather bored lately, and there’s nothing that they like better than eating - so after a spot of shopping they got to test out a range of new hays and forages… as well as some suspicious looking sticks (they didn’t go down so well except for the apple twigs!).

My Guinea pig Phoebe also loves chewing but only sticks and her wooden bridge house but she doesn't touch hay play walls or the natural chew danglies also love Callie running with the stick 4:30

Additionally I have bamboo growing in my garden and having established it was safe for piggies I pick a handful of leaves every day, split the leaves down the middle (so not too wide, as the side of the leaf is rough) and hand feed them each day. It is by far their favourite treat and they scramble over me to get to them.

Also, if you have apple, pear or hazel growing in your garden, fruit tree twigs are always popular especially with some tasty leaves still attached!! xx

Lovely to see you all enjoying your Amazon gifts! I buy that Readigrass and there’s also a nice oat one too in a blue bag. I just sprinkle a small handful onto their haybox or mix with some forage leaves and they all love it! We also like the Burgess Herby Hearts and mine like the Blueberry ones too which our local Mole Avon shop sells. I think you tried the dandelion root nibbles for your piggies but all six of mine really go mad for those as well as dried cucumber slices (sounds odd I know!) which Piggie Parcels sell.
Will have to try the Oxbow Orchard hay as I’ve seen that before and that it looked nice. Small Pets Select do a lovely hay sample box of 4 different kinds of hay which is great for trying some new ones and lasts ages as it’s a really big box!

My two boys love redigrass, they would eat and eat that if I let them which I don't. They get a hand full mixed in with hay, and yep they eat the redigrass first. They're not the biggest fans of the sticks, but do eat them eventually. I subscribed to piggy box, to see what toys and treats I could give them as I'm not really sure. They don't like harder treats, but love grasses and forages.
