Cenote (2022)

When Axel, a young axolotl, gets separated from his family by ancient magic it’s up to him and Memo, an unlikely human ally, to get him out of the Cenote he’s trapped in and back to his home.

This short animated student film marks the 20th student Emmy awarded to BYU's Center for Animation. We are so proud of our incredibly gifted and inspired students, and grateful for the hard work and dedication they devote throughout their education here at BYU and into the world beyond.

This was created by the talented BYU Animation Class of 2022, and supported by Brigham Young University's colleges of Fine Arts and of Mathematical and Physical Sciences.
